Elizabeth Maslowe is the mind behind Elizabeth Brumaire Jewelry.
"I've always had the soul of an artist, but it took half a lifetime to find my medium. Throughout my journey, I have delved into various forms of expression: music, embroidery, spinning, weaving, dance, fused glass, sewing, basketry, and jewelry. Each of these art forms has contributed to my understanding of creativity and craftsmanship."
My passion lies in creating pieces that people truly love. My handmade work evokes an aura of ancient mystery, blending timeless techniques with modern sensibilities. I want my pieces to look almost as if they could have been discovered on an archaeological dig, but without being direct replicas of historical finds. "
What inspired you to start creating your work?
I saw things I wanted for myself, and as the adage goes, why buy something for $150 when I can make it myself with $5000 of art supplies? I have an addiction to tools!
What do you enjoy most about being an artist?
I am motivated by beauty and having a hand in creating it so that in itself is enjoyable. But the true joy is in delighting others with it.
Share one interesting thing about the items you create.
Some of it can be made in front of the TV with a few simple tools, but some require an entire specialized workshop. Before it’s fully polished up, the material is often hideous as it’s been hit with fire and chemicals and acids and hammers and abrasives. You just have to trust the process and it all comes together in the end!
